Years before I became a Pastor, God blessed me with ideas for promoting and sharing His Word.

Whenever I drove around town, I displayed banners on my car with messages of faith and goodwill (sample below). Whenever I went somewhere, I wore a shirt designed to share a positive message with the people I encountered (sample below).

If someone noticed or commented on my message, I would give them a copy of our book, The Bible Unlocked (free sample available online). I would also hand out business cards and a postcard with messages intended to encourage people and help spread the Word (samples below).

Since I began doing these things, my life has changed in ways I never expected.

People have stopped me in store parking lots and asked if they could take pictures of me and my car. People have walked up to me inside stores, given me a hug, and thanked me for making their day.

I’ve even had people tell me that because of something they were going through, they had asked God for a sign—and then I showed up in my car.

While I’m driving, people have honked their horns, smiled, waved, and given me a thumbs-up.

In the past, if I made a mistake while driving, sometimes people would respond rudely or give me the middle finger. Well, I still make a driving mistake once in a while, but since putting the banners on my car, I haven’t received one rude gesture.

Over time, I have met absolutely beautiful people and listened to their wonderful stories. I’ve heard people tell me how much it meant to them to receive the book, see the messages on my car, or simply see the shirt I was wearing.

What began as a simple effort to share God’s Word has given me opportunities to meet people I otherwise never would have met, hear their stories, encourage them, and sometimes be encouraged by them in return.

I cannot emphasize enough how much God has blessed my life through the simple act of sharing the gifts and messages He has allowed me to share.

Sometimes spreading the Word doesn’t begin behind a pulpit. Sometimes it begins with a shirt, a business card, a book, or even a message on the side of a car.
